Steak and Sushi

+UrbanDaddy was among the first to expose The Hurricane Club in September2010. No surprise there. Over two years later, it may seem that this Flatiron hot spot has become old news and over-exploited, but I am here to assure you differently. I went there for dinner with my good friend Alyssa this past Wednesday night and the photos on +Yelp New York City don't do the menu or atmosphere jusitce. The menu is constantly changing and the drinks are always flowing.

I ordered the Waikiki Margarita (bottom right) and Alyssa ordered the Hurricane Mai Tai (bottom left). Our server, Kyle, was kind enough to also send over a couple glasses of champagne and a whopping drink for two called, The Brazilian, which is listed on the menu for $49! Side note: Kyle is also a good friend of mine, hence the generosity; however, if we were paying $49 for the one drink, it would've been worth every penny!

For those who need no further convincing, here are some recommendations from the menu...

For Appetizer:
  • Grilled Edamame with Chili Salt
  • Sesame Shisoto Peppers
Both are spicy, healthy, TASTY, and small-portioned preludes to the Main Course.

For Main Course:
  • Rock Shrimp Roll
  • Peking Duck Potstickers
  • Coconut Shrimp
.... just trust me.

And for Dessert:

We were full enough from dinner and drinks, but Kyle took the liberty of sending over some of the Housemade Cupcakes and some Coconut and Mango Sorbet. Did I say I was full enough?

Upon my next visit to The Hurricane Club, I fully intend to dissect the rest of the dessert menu. Looking it over on their website (the hyper-link is above), I might have to inquire about take home orders... Thanks for reading!! More Later!

Meatball Shop

YUM! I went there a couple nights ago with some friends, and had the best meatballs (haha) ever! With communal style tables and some old school hip hop to set the mood, this place would make a great date spot! Just plan ahead on waiting circa an hour for a table because this place fills up fassst. When we put our name down it was only a 45 min wait, but when we came back about 20 minutes later, the wait was about 2.5 hrs for anyone who was not already on the wait list for a seat! Well worth it though : )

The menu comes with a black marker, so you can just check off your order!

The Buffalo Chicken Meatballs with blue cheese and spicy Frank's Red Hot sauce comes highly recommended (by me)!

And so does the Lavender Honey Ice Cream! I made it an ice cream sandwich by adding 2 oatmeal cookies... ahhhmayyzingggg. : )

'Tis the Season...

... and I'm not talking Christmas. In the past six months I have been to more weddings than in all my life, and I've only been to three since September! I know it's just the beginning, though. It's kind crazy to be embarking upon the stage of my life in which cousins, peers, and friends begin to marry. Personally, I'm not quite finished being young and selfish, but it is definitely fun to see all the different ideas that people come up with. Here are pictures of just a few of the weddings I have been to in the past year...

This was my cousin Timmy's wedding at +CrookedWillowFarms in Larkspur, CO. Beautiful reception, beautiful wife! Side note: Samantha just announced last month that she was pregnant! You can follow her updates here: http://www.wordzofwilliams.wordpress.com Congrats you two!

The next two pictures are of my cousin, Caley's wedding. The reception was held at an art gallery in Denver, how cool?! (In case you weren't aware from previous posts, my mom's side of the family is from Colorado.)

Her husband, Travis, had written her a song and sang it to her as a surprise at the reception. It was so cute to see her surprise (and embarrassment, haha). Below is a couple more pictures of the two.

This past weekend was the wedding of one of my sister's best friends, Jessica. I wasn't able to get any good pictures of the ceremony, but I have a few of the before and after..

Mini photo shoot on the way to the ceremony. Mom had to go straight from work and was exhausted, but she was a good sport : )

Dad and I; My sister Amy and her boyfriend, Jared (they're next!)
The venue, +230elm in Southhampton.

The photo booth was AWESOME!!

... and my lovely parents : )
